Can you repent for the same sin




















The apostle Paul writes about the struggle between a mind which wants to serve God and a sinful nature which just keeps on sinning. And he writes that Jesus Christ delivers him from this body of death Romans 7, esp vv But you must repent sincerely. The idea that God cannot be mocked Galatians basically means that God sees right through someone who is not repenting sincerely. God is not fooled by that.

Repeated sin is a sign that you have a particular weakness to that sort of temptation - and I believe that we all have it to varying degrees. For some it may be anger, for others it may be jealousy. That you continue to sin in the same way should indicate to you that you need to work particularly hard in that area tnot to sin. So pray that God will help you overcome the sin, and then take practical steps to avoid it. Try to work out what situations, decisions, activities or friends lead you into this sin, and then take steps to avoid them.

It is a good idea to tell a Christian friend about the sin so they can pray with you and encourage you. We are all sinners saved by grace, which is why we need a Savior Jesus. In those instances and when we sin, God gave us 1John But, the one who has knowledge of the truth and deliberately chooses to live in a lifestyle of repeated sin knowing that it is contrary to God's Word, incurs the danger of searing their own conscience and falling from grace.

However, as long as a person endeavors to live a life pleasing to God and asks for forgiveness when they sin, they are maintaining fellowship with God. Those who are in danger of backsliding are those who sin willfully with no sense of remorse and no attitude of repentance for their deeds. The more you "catch" yourself sinning, repent immediately, asking God to forgive you and ask Him to help you resist that sin.

It's when we sin knowing that we are sinning and not asking for forgiveness that will, over a period of time, "numb" our conscience until it becomes obvious that you are continuing in your sin.

Paul-minister It is true we have a forgiving God. Romans tells us that all have sinned, and fall short of His glory. The writer of Hebrews speaks about deliberate sin.

In chapter ,27 "If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. This warning was given to Jewish Christians who were attempting to reject Jesus for Judaism, and it would also apply to any Christian today that would want to reject Him. Sanctification is a process, we should be growing daily as Christians and becoming more Christ-like.

To be like Jesus is to hate sin, but love the sinner. It all depends upon the approach of the person. There must be humility and repentance. This reveals that the person is struggling in his walk with God and he is seeking Gods help to bring these areas in his life that he is battling with under subjection.
